Vintage Rings are by far the most popular Fine Vintage Jewelry item collected. Vintage, Antique Estate Rings are available in not only diamonds and Engagement rings, but in an almost unlimited assortment of other precious gemstones, such as rubies, emeralds and sapphires, as well as semi-precious ones, like amethysts, garnets or peridot, as well as pearls, cameos, well, you get the picture.
Vintage, antique and estate rings are so much fun to collect, it is like being on a never ending treasure hunt, looking for a ring that you love and will enjoy wearing. Rings that are made of gold (10K, 14K, 18K…) or platinum can be easily resized by your jeweler. Some, but not all, jewelers can also resize sterling silver rings. Also, many of the vintage rings are dainty and delicate, so keep an eye on the band on the back. Sometimes they tend to be very thin and can break – so you may want to get it reinforced by your jeweler.
One more thing about vintage or antique jewelry rings
– check the prongs carefully. If in doubt ask your jeweler to check them as well. It is heartbreaking to loose the stone out of ring that you love, so get your jeweler to do a little preventative maintenance if indicated.
